JOB DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this position is to ensure safe, clean and dry storage for all delivered material and to record all stock in order that stock is available when required, report any losses of stock, report on any damage to materials and issue stock.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Stock Control

  • Responsible for receiving of all goods / tools with the required documentation
  • Responsible for issuing a unique serial number for all tools
  • Ensuring that a system is in place for the signing in / out of all goods / tools
  • Regular stock checks of goods / tools in the store to ensure that all stocks are accounted for
  • Recording of all damaged / scrap goods
  • Order stocks with the approval of his Supervisor when stocks are low
  • To ensure a consistent supply of cement in the store
  • To ensure that conformance certificates for tools are received
  • To ensure calibration of tools

Health and Safety

  • To ensure that all tools and equipment are in a good condition
  • Ensuring the safety and security of the stock
  • To always keep a clean and safe working environment
  • To always cooperate with Health and Safety representatives
  • To report any breach of Health and Safety procedure or faults in the store directly to the Line Manager or Health and Safety Representative
  • To take responsibility for own health and safety

Housekeeping

  • To ensure that the stores are kept clean and tidy always
  • Ensure high standards of housekeeping are maintained and that health and safety regulations are complied with

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE / MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade 12 or Equivalent /MSCE
  • Stores Certificate or any other relevant course
  • 5+ years’ experience in engineering/construction
  • Able to count, add and write.
  • Knowledge of stock control, deliveries, and receipt
  • Knowledge of tools, equipment and material used in construction industry
